3rd Annual Taste of Jalisco Festival

LIVE Entertainment, Food, Tequila & Beer Garden,
Outdoor Market, Kid Zone & Firework Finale

The 3rd Annual Taste of Jalisco, presented by Sunniva, Inc., celebrates the sister city relationship between the cities of Cathedral City, California (USA) and Tequila, Jalisco (Mexico) through music, fashion, spirits, culture and cuisine.  It is a time to recognize the strength in our diversity, appreciate our similarities, and expand our diplomatic commitment to improving the lives of both cities’ residents.  The festival takes place on Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Festival Lawn in Downtown Cathedral City, located at 68600 East Palm Canyon Drive (HWY 111).  Highlights include LIVE entertainment all day with a headline performance by Los Tiranos del Norte and emceed by Sammy Bernal of La Poderosa 96.7 Fm and Ernesto Mota.  The festival also features Mexican inspired cuisine, Tequila Tastings and beer garden, an outdoor market, and a firework finale at 9:00 pm sponsored by Sunniva, Inc.

The festival kicks-off at 11:00 am with a ballet folklorico dance group followed by an Aztec dance group dressed in their native and ceremonial attire.  Children will have the time of their lives playing in the free Kid Zone with multiple bouncy houses and a chance to win a free bike every hour until 5 pm. 

Musical bands featuring Mariachi Limón De Javier Hernandez and Vanessa “Damita” Martinez begin shortly after the festival opening welcome at noon.  At 1:15, attendees will not want to miss the dancing horse show presented by Show Ecuestre del Rancho Arroyo y su Tamboraso Zacatecano. 

From 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, the musical line-up includes Zable Norteno, Benjamin Flores con Mariachi, and the MYX.

As the day turns into night, the musical entertainment continues with the performances by Grupo Musical Melodia Versatil, Hindsite, Nacho Bustillos y su Quinto Menguante, and the night’s headline band, Los Tiranos del Norte at 8:00 pm.  For the first time, attendees can reserve a table of eight people for the evening concerts and firework show between 5 pm and 9 pm.  This new feature allows you to dance, shop, eat, and converse without the worry of losing your seat.  Tables can be purchased at www.TasteOfJalisco.com.

Enjoying a wide variety of Mexican inspired cuisine will be a big focus at Taste of Jalisco.  Attendees can select delicious dishes from El Portal Mexican Restaurant, Los Arcos Mexican Restaurant, A Liberty Catering, VIP Catering, Cathedral City’s new Bubba’s Bones and Brews Restaurant, and the crowd favorite Cousin’s Maine Lobster Food Truck featuring lobster tacos and lobster quesadillas.  And for dessert, a great selection of ice cream from La Michoacana Ice Cream Parlor or Kettle Korn.  You will also have an opportunity to taste the most famous alcohol beverage from the State of Jalisco – Tequila. 

Families will want to gather at 9:00 pm for the spectacular Taste of Jalisco Fireworks Show presented by Sunniva, Inc.  The night sky in Downtown Cathedral City will light up with the dazzling array of pyrotechnics orchestrated by Garden State Fireworks, known for their shows in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. 

Food, music, fireworks, and fun for the whole family are the essential ingredients for Taste of Jalisco!

3er Anual Taste of Jalisco Festival, presentado por Sunniva, Inc., celebra la relación entre las ciudades de Cathedral City, California (USA) y Tequila, Jalisco (México) a través de la música, moda, bebidas, cultura y arte culinaria. Es tiempo de reconocer la fortaleza en nuestra diversidad, apreciar nuestras similitudes, y reafirmar nuestro compromiso diplomático para mejorar las vidas de los residentes de ambas ciudades. El Festival se llevará a cabo el Sábado, 10 de Febrero de 2018 de 11:00 a.m. a 9:00 p.m. en Festival Lawn en el centro de la Ciudad de la Cathedral, ubicado en 68600 East Palm Canyon Drive (HWY 111).  El entretenimiento en VIVO se llevará a cabo todo el día y será encabezado por Los Tiranos del Norte, los maestros de ceremonia serán Sammy Bernal (La Poderosa 96.7 Fm) y Ernesto Mota.  El festival también destaca comida de inspiración mexicana, Paladear Tequila y área con cerveza, puestos, a las 9:00 pm finalizamos con juegos pirotécnicos patrocinados por Sunniva, Inc.

El Festival empieza a las 11:00 AM con un grupo de danza ballet folclórico seguido por un grupo de baile Azteca vestido con su atuendo nativo y ceremonial.  Los niños se divertirán jugando en la zona gratis para niños con múltiples brincolines y la oportunidad de ganar una bicicleta gratis cada hora hasta las 5 pm.

Poco después de la inauguración del Festival de bienvenida al mediodía, grupos musicales destacando al Mariachi Limón de Javier Hernández y a Vanessa "Damita" Martínez empezaran a tocar.  A la 1:15, los concurrentes no querrán perderse el espectáculo de caballos presentado por el Show Ecuestre de Rancho Arroyo y su Tamborazo Zacatecano. 

De 2:00 pm a 5:00 PM, el elenco musical incluye Zable Norteño, Benjamin Flores con Mariachi, y el MXY.

A medida que el día se convierte en noche, el espectáculo musical continúa con las actuaciones de Grupo Musical Melodia Versatil, Hindsite, Nacho Bustillos y su Quinto Menguante, y el grupo encabezando la noche, Los Tiranos del Norte a las 8:00 pm.  Por primera vez, los concurrentes podrán reservar una mesa para ocho personas para el concierto nocturno y espectáculo de juegos pirotécnicos entre las 5 pm y las 9 pm. Este nuevo aspecto le permitirá bailar, comprar, comer y conversar sin la preocupación de perder su asiento. Las mesas se pueden comprar en www.TasteOfJalisco.com.

El que ustedes disfruten de una amplia variedad de platillos, será el enfoque en el Sabor de Jalisco.  Los concurrentes podrán seleccionar de una variedad de deliciosos platillos de El Portal Mexican Restaurant,  Los Arcos Mexican Restaurant, A Liberty Catering, VIP Catering, El nuevo restaurante en Cathedral City Bubba’s Bones and Brews y el favorito entre las multitudes, el camión de comida de langosta de Maine, Cousin’s Maine Lobster Food Truck ofreciendo tacos y quesadillas de langosta. Y para el postre, una gran selección de helados de La Michoacana Ice Cream Parlor (Heladería La Michoacana). También tendrá la oportunidad de probar la bebida más famosa del Estado de Jalisco – Tequila.

Las familias querrán reunirse a las 9:00 PM para disfrutar del espectacular Taste of Jalisco show de juegos pirotécnicos presentado por Sunniva, Inc.  El cielo nocturno en el centro de la Ciudad de Cathedral City se iluminará con la deslumbrante variedad de pirotecnia orquestada por Garden State Fireworks, conocidos por sus espectáculos en Los Ángeles y Las Vegas.
