Cathedral City Employees Donate Funds to Help Support the United Way of the Desert

The annual United Way of the Desert fundraising campaign ended this past week for the City of Cathedral City. Employees reached deeper into their pockets to raise funds for 20 local programs that directly help thousands in the Coachella Valley. Money raised goes to buy meals for hungry children, case managers to help families gain financial stability, mental health counseling, school supplies, and assistance to women and children escaping from domestic violence. Local programs include the Boys and Girls Club of Cathedral City, FIND Food Bank, and Family Services of the Desert, just to name a few.

In an effort to improve the lives of those less fortunate, Cathedral City employees showed their generosity and community spirit by making contributions and pledges totaling $17,178. This was a 52% increase in donations than the previous year. The additional funds will go a long way in achieving United Way’s mission of breaking the cycle of poverty in the Coachella Valley.
