Cathedral City Repairs Storm Damaged Road Ahead of Schedule

On August 3rd, monsoonal storms dumped over an inch of rain in Cathedral City in just a few short hours. The volume of rain overwhelmed an area near the intersection of Landau Boulevard and Ramon Road.

City engineers investigated the damage and determined the proper repairs needed on August 5th. Public Works Department gave an estimated two-week completion date to reopen the damaged lane on Landau Boulevard.

Emergency work crews started shortly thereafter, and by Tuesday, just seven days later, the lane was temporarily repaired and traffic was back to normal.

Crews will continue to repair the damaged sidewalk and make additional storm drainage improvements and curbing to the area over the next two weeks. Crews will also install a permanent and proper road surface that will replace the current temporary asphalt pictured. Great Job!
