City Council Rescinds Emergency Order 2d Allowing Short-Term Lodging Facilities to Reopen Friday

The City Council voted unanimously tonight to rescind Emergency Order 2d, a prohibition on the marketing, rental or leasing of Short-Term Lodging Facilities, and allow these facilities to reopen in accordance to state guidelines on Friday, June 12, 2020.  Governor Newsom announced on June 5 with an effective date of June 12 for the reopening of hotels, gyms and bars in counties that are meeting attestation levels related to the COVID-19 pandemic and receive approval from the county public health director. The Industry Guidelines can be located at https://www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/CID/DCDC/Pages/Guidance.aspx#.

Earlier today, Riverside County approved the governor’s recommendations for the reopening of these businesses so long as residents continue doing their part to prevent and mitigate the spread of the virus.  Tonight, the City Council aligned the City with the state and county approvals and rescinded Emergency Order 2d, effective June 12, 2020.  The City Council reminds residents that the pandemic is still prevalent, and we all need to do our part to social distance, wear a face covering in public, wash your hands often, disinfect touched items often, and avoid touching your face.
