Councilmember Rita Lamb Sworn into Office to Represent District 1

With a unanimous vote, the City Council accepted the special election results certified by the Riverside County Registrar of Voters electing Rita Lamb to the city council to represent District 1 in Cathedral City. Councilmember Lamb was congratulated by the council and a crowd of friends, constituents, and members of her family. She thanked her husband, family, campaign committee, and her supporters. She also thanked the city staff for her warm welcome this past week as she prepared for her first council meeting that occurred immediately after her swearing-in ceremony.

On August 27, 2019, the City of Cathedral City held a Special Election for the District 1 City Council seat. This was a mail-in ballot only election to fill the seat vacated by the death of former Mayor Greg Pettis. This term will expire once the November 2020 Election Results have been certified by the Registrar of Voters Office and accepted by the City Council.
