Fire Chief Paul Wilson Praises Firehouse Subs for Its $20,243 Grant Given to the Cathedral City Fire Department

The Cathedral City Fire Department is responsible for emergency response to all traffic collisions that occur within the twenty-three square miles of the city limits.  The firefighters / paramedics were using old extrication tools to remove victims trapped in motor vehicle accidents.  The former tools were cumbersome and took a long time to set up, at emergency incidents.

The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation provided $20,243 to purchase new self-contained battery-powered hydraulic rescue tools. The new contemporary tools provide a lighter weight platform with higher capacity cutting and spreading force to better extricate victims out of vehicles involved in traffic collisions.

Rapid rescue is critical for effective patient treatment and transportation to the hospital.  The new life-saving tools enhance the services provided by the Cathedral City Fire Department personnel.  The next time you visit Firehouse Subs near the corner of Gene Autry Trail and Ramon Road, please be sure to thank them for their generous donation to our community.
