Holiday Light Parade at Snow Fest – Saturday, December 9th – Downtown Cathedral City

Bring the entire family for a new and exciting festival that is surely going to become a tradition in Cathedral City called, Snow-Fest. The free festival, title sponsored by the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians and presented by the City of Cathedral City, occurs on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 5 pm to 9 pm in Downtown Cathedral City, CA.

Snow-Fest is packed with all kinds of family fun activities not to be missed, including the Holiday Light Parade throughout Downtown Cathedral City featuring more than 40 contingents (see website www.SnowFest.us for route), Santa Claus arrival and children’s holiday wishes, Tree Lighting Ceremony, Holiday Raffle for great prizes, holiday food and drinks, holiday arts and craft vendors and stocking stuffer merchandise vendors.

Once the Holiday Light Parade kicks-off at 5:30 p.m. and concludes about an hour later, attendees can take their holiday photos with the award-winning lighted floats that will be on display after the parade.

In addition, attendees can receive passes to a free 7:00 p.m. movie, “Polar Express,” at the Mary Pickford Theatre. Seating is limited. They can also pick-up free passes at the festival’s information booth to ice skate for free at Desert Ice Castle on Tuesday, December 12th with a choice of two possible skate sessions, afternoon and evening. (Limited number of 300 passes available).

Holiday entertainment will also be enjoyed with performances from the Palm Springs Gay Men’s Chorus, the Cathedral City High School Choir, Ballet Folklorico dancers, and the Cathedral City Dance Program, just to name a few.

Of course, Snow-Fest also offers “snow”…well, at least the illusion of snow in the desert. Cathedral City’s Town Square Park, located in front of City Hall and the Mary Pickford Theatre, will be transformed into a Winter Wonderland full of snow white bubbles!

Free Admission. Free Parking at the City’s parking structure next to City Hall. Funds raised by the holiday raffle will benefit SafeHouse of the Desert.
