Traffic Light Synchronization along Date Palm Drive to be Completed in August

The City of Cathedral City is currently installing a traffic light synchronization system for Date Palm Drive between Ramon Road and East Palm Canyon Drive (Highway 111). The synchronization project will be comprised of 10 traffic signals in the corridor allowing traffic to flow better, reduce congestion, and improve our City’s carbon footprint. The project is scheduled to be completed by mid-August.

Many people have asked, “What is the status for traffic light synchronization on East Palm Canyon Drive?” The answer is – the Coachella Valley Association of Governments (CVAG) has been charged with implementing a regional traffic light synchronization project. CVAG is currently in the process of awarding a contract to study and implement the best methods for a valley wide synchronization of regional arterial roads including East Palm Canyon Drive in Cathedral City.
