CATHEDRAL CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT

FIREWORKS SAFETY AWARENESS

Dear Residents of Cathedral City,
As we approach the excitement of the Fourth of July celebrations, it’s important to remember our community's commitment to safety. In Cathedral City, the use of fireworks, including those labeled "Safe and Sane," is prohibited. This measure helps protect our city from fire risks and ensures the well-being of all community members and our environment.
Understanding the Firework Ban in Cathedral City
Fireworks pose a significant risk of injury and can lead to severe burns, scars, or even more tragic accidents. They also contribute to fires, especially during our dry season, which can endanger homes and natural landscapes. By adhering to the ban, you play a crucial part in keeping our community safe and serene.
Celebrating Safely: Explore Firework Shows in Greater Palm Springs!
While Cathedral City does not host its own fireworks display, we encourage everyone to enjoy one of the spectacular fireworks shows in the Greater Palm Springs area. These professionally managed displays provide a safe way to enjoy the festivities while adhering to our local fireworks ban.

For a complete list of firework events and other Fourth of July celebrations in the area, please visit the Greater Palm Springs tourism site: Greater Palm Springs Fourth of July Events Round-Up.

Reporting Illegal Fireworks
Help us keep the city safe by reporting any use of illegal fireworks. Your vigilance makes a big difference in our community’s safety.
