A Note from Chief Michael Contreras

September is National Preparedness Month, and there's never been a more important time to ensure you and your family are ready for emergencies. This year's theme, "Start a Conversation," encourages everyone to talk with loved ones about creating an emergency plan.

From earthquakes to wildfires, from power outages to extreme heat, being prepared isn't just smart - it's essential. This month, we're launching new programs and resources to help every Cathedral City resident build their emergency readiness.
Remember: disasters don't plan ahead, but you can. Let's work together to make Cathedral City the most prepared community in the Coachella Valley.

- Fire Chief Michael Contreras

BE PREPARED: NATIONAL PREPAREDNESS MONTH
September marks National Preparedness Month, a nationwide effort to remind Americans that preparing for disasters is a shared responsibility. It's about making sure you, your family, and your community are ready for any emergency - from natural disasters to power outages. The goal is simple: take small steps now that can make a huge difference when disaster strikes.

Look for our "Be Prepared" campaign throughout Cathedral City! We've placed banners at bus shelters, distributed flyers citywide, and added QR code stickers on all our emergency units. Simply scan any QR code to instantly sign up for preparedness events, emergency alerts, and access vital resources. You can't miss us - we're bringing preparedness directly to you!

"Preparedness starts with a conversation. Talk to your family today about what you'll do when disaster strikes." - Chief Contreras

PROGRAMS LAUNCHING THIS MONTH
Thanks to community support and Measure W funding, Cathedral City Fire & EMS is offering multiple preparedness programs throughout the fall. Scan the QR code or contact us directly to register and learn more:
