Dear Cathedral City Community,
It is with great pride and sincere appreciation that I extend heartfelt congratulations to our very own Antonio Baciu, Cathedral City's 2025 Senior Inspiration Award recipient! Antonio was honored today at the 33rd Annual Senior Inspiration Awards ceremony held at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino.
This prestigious recognition celebrates seniors aged 60 and above from across the Coachella Valley's nine cities who inspire others through their volunteerism and community engagement. Antonio exemplifies the very spirit of this award through his unwavering dedication to our city.
Since making Cathedral City his home 17 years ago, Antonio has transformed our community with his passion for public service. As a commissioner, he has designed and implemented numerous community events that have enriched the lives of our residents. His volunteer work extends far beyond his official duties to include service with the County and Animal Campus, always ensuring that events cater to our city's wonderfully diverse population.
What makes Antonio truly exceptional is his drive to mentor others and teach them how to bring their ideas forward to enhance our city. His personal motto resonates with all of us: "Use your time wisely as time is short and you should work towards leaving a lasting impact on your community."
Antonio's commitment to community impact is further demonstrated by his support of "Dinner with Patsi," his chosen non-profit organization to receive the $1,000 donation that accompanies this award, underlining his dedication to health and community welfare initiatives.
When not serving our community, Antonio enjoys traveling (particularly to Miami, Florida, for its beach atmosphere and Latin music scene), hiking, yoga, and the Coachella festival. He shares his life with his husband John of 25 years and their four beloved dogs: Charlie, Brodie, Lily, and Jaxson.
Please join me in congratulating Antonio for his invaluable contributions to Cathedral City. His selfless actions serve as a shining example of the power of volunteerism and the tremendous positive influence that one dedicated individual can have on an entire community. Those who attended today's ceremony witnessed the well-deserved recognition of one of our city's finest volunteers.
