Join Our Team: Help Shape the Future of Public Safety in Our Community
The Cathedral City Police Department is actively recruiting individuals who are passionate about public service, dedicated to community values, and eager to make a meaningful impact. As we work to fill key vacancies, we’re looking for applicants who reflect the diversity of our city and share our commitment to integrity, service, and respect.
Currently, we have openings for:
- Police Officers
- Dispatch

- Community Service Officer
These roles are vital to maintaining the safety, responsiveness, and effectiveness of our department. As a police officer, you’ll do more than enforce the law – you’ll serve and protect the community with integrity, courage, and compassion. From the fast-paced work of our dispatchers to the analytical support provided by our crime analyst, each position plays a critical role in supporting our mission.
Our authorized strength in the police department is 52 positions, we currently have 49 positions filled and anticipate being full strength by July 2025.
What We’re Doing to Recruit the Best

- Attending local job fairs and community events
- Partnering with educational institutions and local organizations
- Enhancing our outreach on social media and career platforms
- Promoting career pathways within our department, from entry-level to leadership
Our goal is to build a team that not only serves the community but truly represents it. We encourage applicants from all backgrounds and walks of life to consider joining our department. Whether you're just starting your career or looking for a new way to serve, there's a place for you here.
