Issue 510
Dear Cathedral City Community,

I’m proud to share this month’s updates highlighting not just our progress, but our promise to deliver for the community we serve. With the support of Measure W, we’ve expanded our resources, enhanced prevention efforts, and your help in celebrating responsibly. Together, we’re building a stronger, safer Cathedral City - one action at a time.

A SAFER FOURTH OF JULY

This year’s Independence Day was one of our safest yet. Cathedral City Fire & EMS responded to 139 calls on July 4th - a 10.3% drop from 2024. The reduction reflects a combination of community engagement, increased prevention efforts, and your help in celebrating responsibly.
At the same time, our unit responses increased from 296 to 305, showing that while call volume dropped, our ability to respond remained strong.
“Lower call volume and higher responsiveness is the result of proactive planning and community cooperation.” - Chief Contreras

BY THE NUMBERS

Call Volume (Week of July 4):
2024 – 155 calls
2025 – 139 calls (↓ 10.3%)

Unit Responses:
2024 – 296
2025 – 305 (↑ 3.0%)
