Community Update

by Chris Parman, Communications & Events Manager

New City Resource Guide Available Online and at City Hall

As the communications / events manager, one of my objectives is to provide accurate information to the public in the most efficient manner.  I often get calls from resident wanting to know the telephone number to a city service, the number for bulky trash pick-up, or the number for registering to vote.  Although you can find this information by searching online, it is not always an easy task.

To better serve you, we have compiled the most common requests for information and placed the answers in one easy City Resource Guide.  The new guide provides the main telephone numbers to city hall, the police and fire departments, public works, and human resources.  It also provides the best websites for city government and learning about city news and events. You can also follow city news on our social media pages like Facebook, Twitter, and Nextdoor.com.  If you have a smartphone, the guide lists several city apps for reporting issues like graffiti, short-term vacation rental problems, or an illegal homeless encampment.

Additionally, the new City Resource Guide provides contact information on local utilities.  Everything from telephone, internet, cable, trash, gas, electric, and water are provided with the main telephone number and website.  Finally, the guide lists many of our partnering non-profit organizations that serve the needs of the community.

You can download the guide at https://www.discovercathedralcity.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/ServicesBrochure.pdf or pick-one up in the main lobby of city hall.  Over the next few weeks, we will distribute additional copies at the Cathedral City Senior Center and the Cathedral City Public Library.
