Three New Events Coming to Cathedral City This Fall
The City of Cathedral City is excited to announce three brand new events coming this fall. They include Cinema Diverse, Desert Treasure Hunt, and FallFest.
Cinema Diverse (Palm Springs LGBTQ Film Festival)
Friday, September 23 - Sunday, September 25
Desert Cinemas, 68510 East Palm Canyon Drive, Cathedral City
Cathedral City's Desert Cinemas will become the valley's second theatre to screen films as part of Cinema Diverse: The Palm Springs LGBTQ Film Festival, marking another record year of growth for the niche film festival. Now in its 9th year, the Festival has expanded beyond the Camelot Theatre in Palm Springs to include Cathedral City. The festival is one of three niche film festivals operated by The Palm Springs Cultural Center, which was founded in 2007 by local philanthropists Ric and Rozene Supple. Tickets for the entire event are available at www.CinemaDiverse.org
Desert Treasure Hunt
Monday, September 26 - Friday, November 11
Multiple Locations
KMIR (NBC), Sunny 103.1 FM, City of Cathedral City, and Volkswagen of Palm Springs have partnered to bring the Desert Treasure Hunt this fall as a lead-up to Cathedral City 35th Anniversary Celebration (November 18-20, 2016). This prize promotion offers three prizes with a grand prize being a 2016 Volkswagen Jetta. Participants can enter the sweepstakes by either downloading the official game sheet online at www.DesertTreasureHunt.com or picking one up at a participating location. Then, watch KMIR or listen to Sunny 103.1 FM each morning to find out the location of the day. Go to that location and pick up your official Desert Treasure Hunt sticker. If you miss a day, check the Desert Treasure Hunt website for a list of all previous locations to go back and get the previous stickers. Once you have collected all 35 stickers, turn your completed game sheet into the treasure chest located at Volkswagen of Palm Springs, 67909 East Palm Canyon Drive in Cathedral City.
On November 14, 2016 - three finalists will be drawn from all the completed entries to win the Top 3 prizes. On November 19, 2016 after the 35th Anniversary Parade, the three finalists will appear on the main stage to win the Top 3 prizes (see official rules).
