Crowd of Kids Continue to Attend the Cathedral City’s Free Summer Kids Film Series – This Week’s Film is “Ice Age: Collision Course”

Each week, the crowds continue to grow for Cathedral City Kids Summer Film Series. This past Friday morning, 196 moms, dads, and children came to watch “Home” for free thanks to the advocacy of the Parks and Community Events Commission and Councilmember John Aguilar who provided $1,500 of his discretionary funds to make it all possible. We were also thrilled to have a group of children from Cathedral City Boys and Girls Club attend.

It takes a group of community volunteers to check-in the attendees, provide directions, and overall guidance. Our community helpers were Commissioners Diane Hines and Thommy Kocan, as well as community residents Sue Townsley, Mel Webster, Laurie Holk, and Public Arts Commissioner Alan Carvalho. Welcoming remarks given prior to the movie came from Councilmember Shelley Kaplan and Commissioner Diane Hines.
