About Buddy Rogers
Mr. Rogers was under contract with Paramount Studios for over 70 years and was married to Mary Pickford until her death in 1979. He was a long-time supporter of Cathedral City with his second wife, Beverly, until his death in 1999. Mr. and Mrs. Rogers were instrumental in naming the Mary Pickford Theatre.
Beverly Rogers commissioned the George Montgomery Foundation to create a 9’ 6” high bronze sculpture of Buddy Rogers. It was designed by George Montgomery in 1997. On December 19, 2006 it was gifted to the City of Cathedral City with great public fanfare. It is located in Town Square on the corner of Buddy Rogers and Pickfair at Town Square… across from the Mary Pickford Theatre.
Coming up in 2017…the newly re-mastered film debut of My Best Girl starring silent film “super star” Mary Pickford.
