SUMMARY:Swimming Program Open House
DESCRIPTION:We hope you’ll join us for an open house this Sunday\, June 11\, 2023\, from 2-3 p.m. to kick off the summer pool program! Mayor Rita Lamb\, PSUSD Board of Education Member Sergio Espericueta\, Lenny the Landshark\, CCHS standout swimmer Jayden Crittenden and many more will be in attendance. \nThe City of Cathedral City\, the Palm Springs Unified School District and Desert Recreation District will once again provide recreational swim sessions and swim lessons at the Cathedral City High School pool. The pool\, located at 69250 Dinah Shore Drive\, Cathedral City\, CA 92234\, will be open to Cathedral City residents from Sunday\, June 11 – Saturday\, Aug. 5\, 2023. You can read more about the agreement here. \nMayor and a few members of City Council will also be sporting 20s style swimsuits at the event to add a little fun\, and we hope to do an official “first splash” in the pool. \n\n\nAquatic and recreational activities improve our physical and psychological health\, strengthen communities\, and make our neighborhoods more attractive places to live\, work and play. Stay cool this summer and enjoy our water features throughout Cathedral City!

Doors open at 10:30 a.m. The film series offers free admission to see a different movie geared towards kids each Friday morning at the Mary Pickford Theatre in Downtown Cathedral City. \nThe Cathedral City Parks and Community Events Commission will be offering free water and a small popcorn for the first fifty kids at each event during the 8-week period. The cost for this participation is $450 from the FY 2022-2023 PACE Small Events Budget\, which was approved by the City Council at the regular meeting on Wednesday\, May 24\, 2023. \nSeating is limited and residents can pick up the free Priority Line Passes one week in advance at the following location: \n\nCathedral City Public Library\, 33520 Date Palm Drive\n\nYou may still attempt to go to the film series without a Priority Line Pass\, but you will be placed in a standby line.
