DESCRIPTION:Join Mayor Rita Lamb\, Councilmember Nancy Ross\, and the Cathedral City Fire Department for an Emergency Preparedness – Grab & Go Event from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday\, June 10\, 2023\, at the St. Louis Catholic Church\, 68633 C St\, Cathedral City\, CA 92234. \nThis event will provide information on how to respond to an emergency\, such as an earthquake\, and what items you will need in your preparedness kit during and after an emergency. \nEach household will learn how to make their own emergency kits and why each item was selected for the kit. \nFree emergency kits will be available while supplies last to Cathedral City households that attend thanks in part to our sponsors Target\, Lowe’s and Home Depot. \nFor more information\, please contact Cathedral City Fire Chief Michael Contreras at (760) 770-8200.

Doors open at 10:30 a.m. The film series offers free admission to see a different movie geared towards kids each Friday morning at the Mary Pickford Theatre in Downtown Cathedral City. \nThe Cathedral City Parks and Community Events Commission will be offering free water and a small popcorn for the first fifty kids at each event during the 8-week period. The cost for this participation is $450 from the FY 2022-2023 PACE Small Events Budget\, which was approved by the City Council at the regular meeting on Wednesday\, May 24\, 2023. \nSeating is limited and residents can pick up the free Priority Line Passes one week in advance at the following location: \n\nCathedral City Public Library\, 33520 Date Palm Drive\n\nYou may still attempt to go to the film series without a Priority Line Pass\, but you will be placed in a standby line.
