SUMMARY:CCHS Homecoming Parade & Rally
DESCRIPTION:The Cathedral City High School Homecoming Parade and Rally returns to Downtown Cathedral City on Thursday\, October 17th from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm.  The parade route will mirror the route used last time in 2023 where it starts south of Perez Road on Cathedral Canyon Drive and continues south to Avenida Lalo Guerrero and turns left.  Once on Avenida Lalo Guerrero\, the parade will end in front of City Hall for the Rally. \nOver the years\, the parade has featured football team\, marching band\, cheer leaders\, students nominated for Homecoming King and Queen\, various honor groups\, elected officials\, middle and elementary school students\, and more. \nAttendees should park in the City’s Parking Garage by entering from the east on Officer David Vasquez Road behind City Hall.  From the parking garage\, you will be steps from the parade route and rally. \nDue to the parade\, motorists should be aware that Avenida Lalo Guerrero and Cathedral Canyon Drive between East Palm Canyon Drive (HWY 111) and Perez Road will be closed for safety from 3:00 pm to approximately 5:30 pm. Both East Palm Canyon Drive and Perez Road will remain open to traffic during the parade.  Customers wanting to access businesses along the parade route will need to use secondary streets or be prepared to travel a moderate distance from their car to the business.

Lucha Libre has played an important role in Mexican culture since the late 1950s. DESCRIPTION:Save the date to celebrate the sights\, sounds\, and tastes of the state of Jalisco\, Mexico at the 8th Annual Taste of Jalisco Festival presented by Agua Caliente Casinos\, to be held February 2 – 4\, 2024\, in downtown Cathedral City. This annual celebration honors the 27-year sister city relationship between Cathedral City and Tequila\, Jalisco (Mexico) through culture\, cuisine\, music\, and fashion. \nThe weekend includes a family-friendly carnival which has doubled in size from previous years\, artisan craft vendor market\, tequila tastings with a tequila tasting competition\, plus authentic Mexican cuisine and a Sunday car show. Daily entertainment at the Jalisco Community Stage will feature local and regional musical groups and acts celebrating Mexican art and culture. \nHeadlining this year’s festival is a live performance of the Legends of Lucha Libre Mexicana at 6 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday nights. Lucha Libre has played an important role in Mexican culture since the late 1950s. The sport became famous mainly due to its masked wrestlers\, who incorporated their own family traditions\, beliefs\, and fears into the design of their masks\, transforming an ordinary person into a fearless character. \nSaturday’s wrestling matches feature Champion Tinieblas Jr. with Alushe along with PWR tag team champions Lucha Solos: Galeno Del Mal\, Super Astro Jr.\, Rey Leon\, Fatal\, and many more. Sunday evening’s performance will feature the women’s championship match of Keyra vs. Barones\, plus Solar\, Solar Jr\, Damian 666\, Bestia 666\, and White Tiger\, among others. It has hosted Team USA as an opportunity for preparing our Olympic athletes for the best competition.  Celebrating its 17th year\, the Cathedral City\, California event will occur on February 24-27\, 2020. \nThe lineup of teams includes UCLA\, San Diego State\, UC Riverside\, Missouri\, Texas Tech\, Oklahoma\, Oregon\, plus many more… \nEvery game of the Mary Nutter Classic will be available live and via replay exclusively on FloSoftball.com via FloPRO subscription\, which offers unfettered access to live and archived footage of top club and college softball events\, original documentaries on stars of the sport\, a library of technique videos and more. \nThe softball competition is hosted at the Big League Dreams Complex in Cathedral City\, Calif.\, which was selected because of the idyllic Southern California weather in February and its destination draw for fans and teams to the resort community. \nIt is estimated that the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic brings in more revenue to the businesses in the Coachella Valley than every other event except the Bob Hope PGA Classic.  More than 30\,000 visitors came to the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in 2020. \nTeams are selected and invited to create the highest RPI event in the country as well as creating a diverse regional mix of teams representing the entire country. \nTICKETS for February 24 – 27
