DESCRIPTION:Cathedral City’s Halloween Spooktacular features trick or treating with over 30\,000 pieces of candy!  Join friends\, neighbors and family for a Spooktacular time including activities such as Halloween costume contests (two bikes given away each hour)\, Cathedral City High School Ballet Folklorico\, police and fire exhibitions\, music\, family games\, and LifeStream will hold a blood drive for adults only. \nPresented by Quick Quack Car Wash (Don’t Drive Dirty) and sponsored by the City of Cathedral City\, Cathedral City Police Department\, Cathedral City Fire Department\, Sonic Drive-In\, Zobo & Meester’s\, U S Bank\, Mary Pickford Theatre\, Frazier Pest Control\, and La Michoacana Ice Cream Parlor and Candy Store.  Come hungry as A Liberty Catering will be there to serve lunch and beverages for purchase.  Halloween Spooktacular provides you with information about the police and fire departments\, to view special demonstrations\, and get to know the men and women who serve you on a daily basis.  Free admission. DESCRIPTION:In cooperation with the City of Cathedral City and the Mary Pickford Theatre\, we are pleased to announce that Bette King Productions and her Productions Extraordinaire will offer a season of variety musical show starting on December 11th and will run through May of 2020. The performances will occur in the large\, comfortable Theatre 10. These are the type of shows that you used to see at the Palm Springs Follies. \nBette King as a producer of many shows in the desert has discovered the wealth of talent here; and has picked up the ball and is running with it. ENCORPORATING THE TITLE “PRODUCTIONS EXTRAORDINAIRE”. The opening show\, which is a Holiday Celebration\, will be held on Wednesday\, December 11\, 2019 with a noon and a twilight show. The remaining shows for 2020 will be held on Thursdays featuring a noon and a twilight showing. \nCHRISTMAS HOLIDAY SHOW\nDecember 11\nShows at Noon and 5:00 pm\nThe Sensational Jewels will be hosting a Holiday Celebration of Christmas\, Navidad\, Hanukkah\, Kwanza\, and Lunar New Year. They will be joined by friends: Terry Lawrence\, Devorah Herberg\, Leslie Tinnaro\, Marcia Harp\, Les Michaels\, Bonnie Gilgallon; also featuring Jessica Taylor of the Platters. They will be performing a diverse selection of songs and dance that will truly bring together the spirit of the Holidays. In today’s times it is the best way to truly celebrate the diversity of the residents of Coachella Valley. Everyone attending will receive a gift from a Santa Bag\, as Bette King thanks you for your support of her productions. \n\nThe cost of the noon shows will be $55.00; which will include\, a shopping vendor experience\, a buffet lunch\, and the show. The twilight show; will be the vendor experience\, with a glass of wine or other beverage to enjoy while shopping\, the show\, and a buffet dinner. \nVENDOR SHOPPING: there will be 10 vendors set up for your shopping pleasure. The bus tour companies\, who used to bring people for the Follies\, noted that their passengers loved to come to shop\, eat and see the show. \nACCOMODATIONS: A bus can be arranged for a group of 40 or more persons at an additional charge. SUMMARY:Healing Field 2019
DESCRIPTION:“Healing Field” is a tribute to the men and women of uniform who gave the ultimate sacrifice to our country since September 2001.  The event is organized by the Cathedral City Rotary and sponsored by the City of Cathedral City. \nLocated in Patriot Park next to Big League Dreams Sports Park at the corner of Date Palm Drive and Dinah Shore Drive\, “Healing Field” begins with Opening Ceremonies on Saturday\, November 9th at 9:00 am\, followed by the reading of names and a static display of more than 6\,900 American flags representing the fallen heroes.  Closing Ceremonies occur on Saturday\, November 16th at noon. \nVolunteers are needed to help prepare the park for the flag displays\, placing the flags\, and reading of the names.  The Cathedral City Rotary also needs to raise additional funds to repair\, replace\, and purchase new flags at this annual event.  Please contact the Cathedral City Rotary at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Rotary-Club-of-Cathedral-City/298516647438 or  760-578-1282.

The Pasta Suprema! event helps underwrite special programs and general operating expenses of the Senior Center and is open to the general public. \nAn elegant pasta and sauce bar is being hosted by primary event sponsor Nicolino’s Famous Italian Restaurant. “This is no typical ‘spaghetti feed\,’” points out Mark Carnevale\, owner of the restaurant and Mayor of Cathedral City. “Guests can select their own favorites from an array of pastas\, sausages\, meatballs and delicious sauces\,” he says. \nA no-host wine and beer bar will also be available\, along with a hosted dessert bar. The event will take place in the Senior Center’s main room and adjoining patio (weather permitting). \nExecutive Director Geoff Corbin says\, “We have been very fortunate the past year to gain many new sponsors and friends and acquire grants for specific programs for seniors. The hardest part is finding money for special programs and general operating expenses. Somehow\, we must be able to pay for the utilities\, phone\, internet\, staffing\, etc. So\, these kinds of programs like the Pasta Suprema! help out tremendously!” \nTickets are just $45 per person and are available by calling the Cathedral City Senior Center at 760-321-1548. The price includes a complete dinner\, with salad\, bread\, pasta bar and dessert. No Host wine and beer also available. \nGillian Cross\, President of the Senior Center’s Board says\, “We realize we’re not a big organization even compared to the other local senior centers. So\, our Board made the concerted decision to have three to four smaller fundraising events a year rather than trying to rely upon one large gala for our funding. For us\, these three or four events are manageable with our limited staff\, seven-person board of directors and dozens of dedicated volunteers.” \n“Our next event will be our 3rd Chili Cook Off which will be held in the first quarter of 2020\,” says Gillian Cross. “We also rely upon our periodic rummage and Pop Up Boutique sales – which are completely volunteer run – to help boost the income budget” concludes Gillian Cross. \n-CCSC-\nThe Cathedral City Senior Center is a nonprofit organization – 501 (c)(3).
