Fresh Produce Donated to Cathedral City Senior Center

Thanks to the Coachella Valley farmworkers, seniors who utilize the free food pantry program at the Cathedral City Senior Center will have a great selection of fresh produce on Monday.  Councilmember Rita Lamb along with Senior Center staff member Ron Casidine and Volunteer Thommy Kocan greeted Nancy and Lee who provided 10 boxes of fresh produce from local farms as part of Agriculture and Farmworker Appreciation Week.  Organized by Supervisor V. Manuel Perez the local farmers dropped off fresh produce to each of the nine cities in the Coachella Valley.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, it is especially important to thank all of the hardworking farmworkers who are providing us with fresh, healthy food.   To learn more about the Senior food program at the Cathedral City Senior Center, go to: https://theccsc.org/
