Important Videos Related to Cathedral City Becoming a “Sanctuary City”
At the May 24th City Council Meeting, the Council voted 3-2 in favor of recognizing previous City immigration policies and officially declaring Cathedral City as a place where all families can live without the fear of local law enforcement seeking their immigration or citizenship status. Cathedral City joins nearly 600 other jurisdictions across this nation to proclaim itself to be a “Sanctuary City” much like Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Diego, and San Jose.
The City of Cathedral City continues to abide by the same police practices as it has had for nearly the last 15 years. The main difference is that the Council placed a department policy into a formal City resolution.
