Missing “Candy Cane Lane” Sign Replaced This Morning

The famous Minerva Road, a.k.a. “Candy Cane Lane” in Cathedral City appears to have been visited by the “Scrooge” recently as one of the sign toppers went missing late last week.

“Candy Cane Lane” has become a holiday tradition where the neighbors decorate their homes in seasonal lights to the delight of thousands of people near and far.

Neighbor John Elliott reported the missing street sign topper on Friday via Facebook to Mayor Stan Henry. This morning, City crews replaced the missing sign and added security measures to prevent another “Scrooge” from taking a piece of local history in the future.

KMIR NBC will feature the story on its 5 pm and 6 pm news tonight with reporter Angela Monroe.
