Thousands Came for the Annual Cathedral City Halloween Spooktacular

Although Thursday is Halloween, thousands came to Downtown Cathedral City on Sunday, October 27th for the annual Cathedral City Halloween Spooktacular, presented by Quick Quack Car Wash. Children enjoyed trick or treating with more than 30,000 pieces of candy given away. They also had fun climbing into the public safety vehicles while pretending to be a firefighter or police officer. Several children were dressed as public safety officers for the Halloween Costume Contest for Kids that saw six children winning brand new bicycles as their grand prize.

Parents and children enjoyed DJ music by Jacobsway Productions, the beautiful performances of the Cathedral City High School Ballet Folklorico dance troupe as well as a free movie at the Mary Pickford Theatre. Our police department offered a special K-9 demonstration at Town Square Park to a crowd of curious onlookers. Best of all, LifeStream held for the first time a blood drive during Halloween Spooktacular and exceeded their donation goal. That just proves how giving Cathedral City residents are and their willingness to help save lives.

None of these activities could be possible without the City Council, resident volunteers, Cathedral City High School volunteers, Cathedral City Fire Department, Cathedral City Police Department, members of our Parks and Community Events Commission, and the very giving businesses that helped financially support the event. They included Quick Quack Car Wash (Don’t Drive Dirty), Sonic Drive-In, Zobo & Meester’s, U S Bank, Mary Pickford Theatre, Frazier Pest Control, Cashback Loans, and La Michoacana Ice Cream Parlor and Candy Store. Several non-profits and community organizations were also on hand to provide games and trick or treating including the Cathedral City Boys and Girls Club, Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce, the San Gorgonio Girl Scouts, and the U.S. Census 2020.
