SUMMARY:CCHS Homecoming Parade & Rally
DESCRIPTION:The Cathedral City High School Homecoming Parade and Rally returns to Downtown Cathedral City on Thursday\, October 17th from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm.  The parade route will mirror the route used last time in 2023 where it starts south of Perez Road on Cathedral Canyon Drive and continues south to Avenida Lalo Guerrero and turns left.  Once on Avenida Lalo Guerrero\, the parade will end in front of City Hall for the Rally. \nOver the years\, the parade has featured football team\, marching band\, cheer leaders\, students nominated for Homecoming King and Queen\, various honor groups\, elected officials\, middle and elementary school students\, and more. \nAttendees should park in the City’s Parking Garage by entering from the east on Officer David Vasquez Road behind City Hall.  From the parking garage\, you will be steps from the parade route and rally. \nDue to the parade\, motorists should be aware that Avenida Lalo Guerrero and Cathedral Canyon Drive between East Palm Canyon Drive (HWY 111) and Perez Road will be closed for safety from 3:00 pm to approximately 5:30 pm. Both East Palm Canyon Drive and Perez Road will remain open to traffic during the parade.  Customers wanting to access businesses along the parade route will need to use secondary streets or be prepared to travel a moderate distance from their car to the business.

The Jam Session video will introduce the world to what the Coachella Valley has to offer. \nBACKGROUND \nThe Cathedral City Senior Center is a welcoming place for seniors in the MidValley\, dedicated to improving their quality of life. It offers a broad spectrum of activities and services tailored to seniors’ needs\, including wellness programs\, creative arts\, and support groups\, fostering both mental and physical health. The center also provides one-on-one appointments with social service agencies for more personalized support. \nSue Townsley\, an influential figure within the Cathedral City community\, serves as the board secretary of the Senior Center. DESCRIPTION:Cathedral City Proudly Announces the 6th Annual LGBT Days Taking Place March 25 – 27\, 2022 \n  \nCalifornia’s First Pride Celebration of the Year \n  \nFeaturing live performances by Lance Bass and the Pop 2K Tour\, the annual Bed Race and Parade\, a new show by comedian Del Shores\, artisan craft vendors\, local parties and more \n  \nAs California’s first Pride event of the year\, the 6th annual Cathedral City LGBT Days brings together numerous LGBT celebrities\, artists\, media\, community leaders\, Coachella Valley residents and visitors for an unforgettable weekend of live entertainment\, community engagement and fun activities from March 25 – 27\, 2022. \n  \nFriday night features the official Pride flag raising and lighting of City Hall\, followed by a tea dance in Town Square Park\, a ticketed comedy performance by actor\, playwright and activist Del Shores at the CV Repertory Theatre; and a bar crawl presented by the CCBGA and participating local bars including The Roost\, OneEleven\, Barracks Bar\, Trunks\, AMP Sports Lounge and CBCC Resort/Runway Bar. \n  \nSaturday’s festivities include local pool parties during the day followed by the Pop 2K Tour headline performance at the Cathedral City Community Amphitheater\, hosted by legendary singer\, actor\, producer\, author and LGBT icon Lance Bass of N’SYNC.   The night’s festivities kick off at 5pm with co-host/emcee “The Queen of the Party” Mayhem Miller and DJ Alex D\, followed by live performances with multiplatinum recording artists OTown\, Ryan Cabrera\, LFO and a closing set featuring Lance Bass performing his greatest hits.  Fun lawn games\, prize giveaways from local radio stations\, artisan craft vendors\, gourmet food trucks and more will round out a full evening of entertainment in the Amphitheater for all attendees. \n  \nThe weekend concludes on Sunday March 27th with the annual Bed Race and Parade in front of City Hall starting at 10 am\, where thousands of attendees line up to cheer on teams running festively decorated beds down Avenue Lalo Guerrero\, competing for prizes and local infamy. SUMMARY:Mayor's Tree Lighting Ceremony & North Pole Village
DESCRIPTION:Bring the entire family to the “Mayor’s Tree Lighting Ceremony” and “North Pole Village” presented by Agua Caliente Casinos in Downtown Cathedral City on Wednesday\, December 8\, 2021\, from 5 pm to 7 pm to celebrate the “most wonderful time of the year!”  The annual event includes a lit Hollywood-style movie set themed as Main Street at Santa’s North Pole.  Snow-Fest captures all the holiday spirit and places it at one event with holiday music\, Santa Claus\, holiday tree lighting ceremony\, candy canes\, bike giveaways for kids\, and a free movie at the Mary Pickford Theatre.  Free admission and free parking. \nNorth Pole Village \nThanks to the Cathedral City Public Arts Commission and the amazing work by the theatrical stage artists from the Coachella Valley Repertory Theatre and local artists\, the “North Pole Village” comes to life in front of City Hall.  This Hollywood-style movie set depicts “main street” at Santa’s North Pole – all lit with holiday lights.  It is the ultimate backdrop for family holiday pictures and selfies.  The “North Pole Village” features 18 storefronts painted as if they came right out of a children’s book.  Best of all\, the “North Pole Village” will remain as a static display with holiday music playing in the evenings all the way through the beginning of the New Year and ending on January 9\, 2022. \nMayor’s Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony \nShortly after Santa’s arrival at 5:00 pm on Wednesday\, December 8\, 2021\, Mayor Raymond Gregory will preside over the annual holiday tree lighting ceremony.  The entire crowd will count down from 10 for the splendor of the season as the 30’ holiday tree in front of city hall will shine as a beacon of hope.  The holiday tree will remain up and lit through the beginning of the New Year.  Shortly after the Tree Lighting\, the award-winning Cathedral City High School Choir will perform a limited holiday concert for your enjoyment and Cathedral City’s own Avenida Band will play for the remainder of the event. \nThe Mary Pickford Theatre is also joining in on the spirit of the season.  You can go to the Mary Pickford Box Office and receive a free pass for the classic holiday movie\, “A Christmas Story”  (1983) that will play at 7:00 pm inside the Mary Pickford Theatre adjacent to the North Pole Village event.  Tickets are limited to a total of 209 seats.  Passes are available on a first-come\, first-serve basis at the Mary Pickford Box Office. \n \n
