events
We’re excited to introduce our 2022 fall events season, which has something for everyone to enjoy in our community. We’ll start with this weekend’s Tejano Music Fest. This annual event, presented by Agua Caliente Casinos, will occur on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022, starting at 5 p.m. at the Cathedral City Community Amphitheater, located at 68526 Avenida Lalo Guerrero in Cathedral City.

This year’s festival will feature a night of Grammy Award-winning bands including Rick Fuentes and the Brown Express, Hugo Guerrero as well as other awarding winning bands such as Tejano Highway 281 and local Tejano favorite Chalito Zapata y Los Traviesos. The musical lineup is presented by Tejano PowerHouse Entertainment and Diaz Enterprises. Hector Gonzalez will also make his solo debut and release his new CD at this year’s event. Click here for full event details.

The next day sees the return of the popular Halloween Spooktacular in Downtown. Presented by State Farm Agent Phil Goodge, this family event features trick-or-treating with more than 50,000 pieces of candy! Join friends, neighbors, and family for activities such as Halloween costume contests (two bikes given away each hour), exhibitions by Cathedral City Police and Cathedral City Fire, music, and family games. This year’s event will also feature special performances by Cathedral City High School’s Ballet Folklorico group. Join us at Cathedral City Civic Center Plaza, 68700 Avenida Lalo Guerrero, from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2022. Learn more about Spooktacular here.

Agua Caliente Casinos is also proud to present the 8th Annual Cathedral City Hot Air Balloon Festival & Food Truck Fiesta, taking place on Friday, Nov. 18 – Sunday, Nov. 20, 2022, in Cathedral City. Join us for three days of activities for the whole family that include balloon tether rides, nighttime balloon glows, a drone light show, live music, gourmet food trucks, family-friendly activities and so much more! Please visit www.hotairballoonfest.com for more information. A reminder that Cathedral City residents receive free admission to the Food Truck Fiesta at the Community Amphitheater, which takes place both Friday and Saturday, Nov. 18-19, 2022.

Rounding out our fall events lineup is the “Mayor’s Tree Lighting Ceremony” and “North Pole Village” as part of this year’s Snow Fest, presented by Comfort Air on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2022, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year! Snow Fest captures all the holiday spirit and places it at one event with holiday music, Santa and Mrs. Claus, holiday tree lighting ceremony, candy canes, elf workshop from S.C.R.A.P. Gallery, bike giveaways for kids, and a free movie at the Mary Pickford Theatre. Admission and parking are both free. The North Pole Village will remain up until Jan. 9, 2023, which is through the opening weekend of the Palm Springs International Film Festival.
