More shops and restaurants coming to Downtown

The City Council recently approved the Cathedral Cove Center, a new mixed-use shopping center that will be located at the southwest corner of East Palm Canyon Drive and Date Palm Drive, across from the valley’s newest casino, Agua Caliente Cathedral City, welcoming visitors and valley residents to Downtown Cathedral City.

The commercial phase of the project, which is anticipated to break ground in early 2023, will have several drive-thru and sit-down restaurants with outdoor patios and amenities, multi-tenant buildings for retail and service businesses, and a new modern fuel station. The pedestrian-oriented center has been comprehensively planned with a shared modern architecture style and lush landscape scheme. The future 200-unit residential component will provide much needed housing in the Downtown for future Cathedral City residents.

The new shopping center will add to the growing entertainment, restaurants, and services in Downtown Cathedral City, including the new Luchador Brewing Company and Monster Shakes, the Mary Pickford Theatre, Coachella Valley Repertory, and the recently completed Cathedral City Community Amphitheatre, that will host a full schedule of events in 2022/2023.
