Dear Cathedral City Residents,
I want to extend a HUGE thank you to our residents and visitors for the success of the inaugural season of Tastes & Sounds of Cathedral City! In total, thousands came out to enjoy this eight-week series and we’re excited about the future of both Tastes & Sounds and the Cathedral City Community Amphitheater. The dancing, the smiles on so many faces, this event is a reminder of why we do what we do and what makes this community so special.
Each week featured a local artist performing while a local restaurant or food truck provided dinner. Many of you extended so many kind words throughout the season, sharing how much you enjoyed listening to live music in the beautiful outdoor setting of our Community Amphitheater. It remains my goal as the Communications & Events Manager, supported by the vision of our City Council and Executive Management Team, that we find ways to provide more free entertainment options everyone can enjoy. We’ve learned a lot during our first season, and our staff will continue to find ways to improve the experience for what we hope will be an annual event series for many years to come.
I also want to extend a big thank you to our music acts: Cathedral City High School Royal Jazz Band, Radio Ready, Ethylina Canne, Vanity Halston, Jasmine Masters, Norma Lee High, and Miss Patsi for our LGBT Days Kickoff, Cathedral City High School Choir, Avenida Music, Leanna & The Free Agents, The Dreamboats, and Giselle Woo & The Night Owls. And our food vendors were outstanding, including Cathedral City’s own Meester Zebra, Smokey Lips BBQ, Taqueria Copacabana, E&E Pel’s, as well as Uncle D’s Smokehouse BBQ & Grill.
Our Communications & Events team is honored to celebrate the city’s vibrancy and diversity through our local events. The Cathedral City Community Amphitheater is a beautiful location, and we’re excited to showcase it weekly. Stay tuned for more regarding Tastes & Sounds and other upcoming events at www.discovercathedralcity.com!
