Community Update
By George Crum, Chief of Police

A message from Police Chief George Crum:

I am happy to announce that your Police Department has a full-time Traffic Bureau. In July of this year, a new Traffic Bureau was formed as we sent a Sergeant and three officers to intensive motorcycle training courses. Sergeant M. Robles successfully completed his motorcycle instructor course. Officer J. Bird, Officer A. Felix, and Officer K. Ramirez completed their two-week intensive motorcycle riding and enforcement academy course and are certified by the Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training to conduct traffic enforcement while riding a motorcycle. This new Traffic Bureau went into service on the first day of school and made an immediate impact in keeping children safe as they arrived for their first day of the new year school year. The Traffic Bureau will be proactively enforcing the vehicle code laws throughout Cathedral City and bring a visible awareness to motorists to drive safely as we continue our effort to reduce traffic collisions and fatalities.
Below is a photo of our Traffic Bureau personnel.
