Dear Cathedral City Residents,

We’re excited to introduce our 2023 fall events season, which has something for everyone to enjoy in our community. We’ll start with Battle in the Desert on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023. This annual amateur boxing tournament is geared towards those who work in public safety. The boxing event is returning to the Community Amphitheater in Downtown Cathedral City for a second straight year on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm. The event is sanctioned by USA Boxing, and it encourages law enforcement officers and public safety personnel to compete in the sport of boxing. Some of the proceeds generated go to local charities.

Maya La Feria Internacional De Cultura – Oct. 21-22, 2023
Maya La Feria International De Cultura projects a strong local and regional audience and would represent another local event dedicated to celebrating the culture and history of Latino countries/heritage. The event, which is a partnership between the Cathedral City Chamber of Commerce and Camara de Comercio Guatemala USA, features folklorico performances, live entertainment, and cultural cuisine/presentations representing Mexico, Central & South America. Event organizers also plan to include a car show, vendor artisan market, and games on the Festival Lawn. Click here for full event details.

Oct. 28, 2023 – Howl-O-Ween Dog Costume Contest & 8th Annual Día de Los Muertos Festival
The Cathedral City Parks & Community Events Commission presents the inaugural Howl-O-Ween 23 Dog Costume Contest from 9-10:30 a.m. at Panorama Park Dog Park, 28905 Avenida Maravilla, Cathedral City, CA 92234. Prizes will be awarded for 1st to 3rd place in two categories. Grocery Outlet Cathedral City, Nick’s Bistro, Tortillas Restaurant, the Mary Pickford Theater, and La Michoacana Ice Cream Parlor are all sponsors.

And right after the dog costume contest, head over to the 8th Annual Día de Los Muertos Festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Desert Memorial Park! Attendees can enjoy organizational booths, live local entertainment, and much more. Click here for full event details.

Halloween Spooktacular – Oct. 29, 2023
Cathedral City’s annual Halloween Spooktacular, presented by State Farm Agent Phil Goodge, features trick or treating with more than 50,000 pieces of candy! This year’s event will once again take place at Cathedral City Civic Center Plaza, 68700 Avenida Lalo Guerrero, from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2023.

Join friends, neighbors, and family for a Spooktacular time including activities such as Halloween costume contests (two bikes given away each hour), exhibitions by Cathedral City Police and Cathedral City Fire, music, and family games. This year’s event will also feature special performances by Cathedral City High School’s Ballet Folklorico group. Click here for full event details

Fields of Valor – Nov. 4-12, 2023
The Evening Rotary Club of Cathedral City is organizing the 16th Annual Fields of Valor, from Nov. 4-12, 2023, at Patriot Park, located at 33998 Date Palm Dr, Cathedral City, CA 92234. This week-long celebration begins with an Opening Ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 4, recognizing local lost veterans from Riverside and San Bernardino counties in the Vietnam War and California fallen soldiers from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. An area will be dedicated to Soldiers of Valor from past wars to honor family and friends. The names of local lost veterans will be recorded and looped on a soundtrack to be played all day, ending with taps at sundown. Veterans’ recognitions will close with a ceremony on Sunday, Nov. 12.

Cathedral City International Hot Air Balloon Festival – Nov. 17-19, 2023
Agua Caliente Casinos, the award-winning premier destination for entertainment in the Coachella Valley, is proud to present the 9th Annual Cathedral City International Hot Air Balloon Festival & Food Truck Fiesta, taking place on Friday, November 17 – Sunday, November 19, 2023, in Cathedral City. The official kick-off begins with the balloon launch from Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa Rancho Mirage on Friday, November 17 at sunrise. The Food Truck Fiesta takes place Friday evening and the following, Saturday, November 18, at the Cathedral City Amphitheater. The fiesta will feature a dozen food truck vendors from all over Southern California, a beer garden, tethered balloon rides, a car show, kid zones, live music, and more.

North Pole Village at SnowFest – Dec. 9, 2023
SnowFest presented by Comfort Air, is scheduled from 1-8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023. This annual event captures all the holiday spirit and places it at one event with holiday music, Santa and Mrs. Claus, holiday tree lighting ceremony, food, and a free movie at the Mary Pickford Theatre (How the Grinch Stole Christmas). “North Pole Village” comes to life in front of City Hall – all lit with holiday lights. It is the ultimate backdrop for family holiday pictures and social media selfies. The “North Pole Village” features twenty holiday-themed storefronts. Free admission and free parking are available.
