Cathedral City’s Snow-Fest, presented once again by Comfort Air, is returning to an all-day event from 1-8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023. The annual event captures all the holiday spirit and places it at one event with holiday music, Santa and Mrs. Claus, a holiday tree lighting ceremony, food, train rides, real snow, and much more! “North Pole Village” comes to life in front of City Hall (68700 Avenida Lalo Guerrero) – all lit with holiday lights.

It is the ultimate backdrop for family holiday pictures and social media selfies. The “North Pole Village” features twenty (20) holiday-themed storefronts. Free admission and free parking are available. Best of all, the “North Pole Village” will remain as a static display with holiday music playing in the evenings all the way through the opening weekend of the Palm Springs International Film Festival and ending on Jan. 8, 2024.

Shortly after Santa’s arrival at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023, Mayor Rita Lamb will preside over the annual holiday tree lighting ceremony, emceed by Cathedral City resident Patrick Evans, KESQ News Channel 3’s morning and noon meteorologist, and Host of Eye on the Desert. The entire crowd will count down from 10 for the splendor of the season as the 30-foot holiday tree in front of city hall will shine. The award-winning Cathedral City High School Choir will also perform a limited holiday concert for your enjoyment.

The annual event also includes:

  • Holiday Outdoor Market
  • Snow Fest Express – Free Train Rides
  • Snow Day in the Park!
  • Bike Giveaways
  • Holiday Music by Cathedral City High School Performing Arts
  • Charlie Brown Christmas Tree Silent Auction
  • Puppet Shows and Storytime Reading for Kids (featuring Cathedral City Police & Fire)
  • Elf Workshop for Kids by S.C.R.A.P. Gallery and much more…
Experience the true essence of Christmas as Santa and Mrs. Claus make a special appearance at Snowfest. Share your wishes, capture cherished moments with photos, and feel the warmth of holiday cheer. Mark your calendars for December 9, 2023, and let Santa’s presence light up your day.

Santa arrives at 5:00 p.m. on Dec. 9, 2023, but residents will have three more opportunities for pictures with Santa & Mrs. Claus in front of City Hall throughout December at McSanta Parlor, sponsored by Dick Shalhoub McDonald’s!
