1 New Police Officer and 2 New Police Cadets Join Cathedral City Today

Please welcome our newest employee to Cathedral City, Police Officer Juan Carlos Ramirez. Officer Ramirez was sworn-in this morning to serve our community. He comes to Cathedral City after serving as a police officer in Calexico, California since 2011.

Officer Ramirez grew up in Calexico and achieved an Associates of Science degree in Administration of Justice from Imperial Valley College. He is excited for this new opportunity and to serve Cathedral City with pride, integrity, and commitment. In addition to Officer Ramirez, two new Police Cadets Kishan Pathak and Zachary Rubalcava started today.

The Cathedral City Police Cadet Program identifies young men and women enrolled in college (under the age of 23 years) who are interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement. They learn internal police functions and ride along with police officers to understand the profession and get to know the community. Being a police cadet provides these two individuals with an advantage when their studies are finished and they apply for a law enforcement position and/or enroll in the police academy. Cadet Pathak has been part of the Cathedral City Police Department as he just recently completed its Explorer program.
