$23,000 Raised for the Boys and Girls Club at the 6th Annual Meatball Festival

Hundreds of community members came out this past Sunday to partake in the 6th Annual Meatball Festival hosted by Sammy’s Place.  The annual event raises money to support the Cathedral City Boys and Girls Club.  According to Scott Robinson, the Executive Director, the Meatball Festival raised a record $23,000 to support its mission.

The City of Cathedral City proudly sponsored the event as three City Departments joined local businesses and organizations by volunteering their time and making delicious meatballs. Attendees had an opportunity to taste each vendor’s meatballs, vote for their favorite, and listen to some wonderful entertainment.

Several meatball competitions occurred throughout the event including a meatball tasting battle between our local fire, police, and administrative departments. The Cathedral City Police Department won first place with their award winning recipe, followed by the fire department and administrative staff who took first place last year.

If you would like to support the Cathedral City Boys and Girls Club whose mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens; then go to http://www.bgcccity.org for more information.
