Thousands Gather for Bed Racing Competition at the 7th Annual Cathedral City LGBT Days

As part of the weekend activities, thousands of residents and visitors arrived in Downtown Cathedral City to watch the 7th Annual Cathedral City LGBT Days’ Bed Race and Parade in front of City Hall on Sunday, March 5, 2023.

City, non-profit, and business groups competed for a variety of prizes and trophies including the coveted fastest time trophy. Hosted by Bella da Ball and KGAY 106.5’s Morning DJ John Taylor, the category bed race winners were:

1st Fastest Time:

CITY OF CATHEDRAL CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT

2nd Fastest Time:

THE ABBEY WEST HOLLYWOOD

1st place décor:

AMP SPORTS LOUNGE

2nd & 3rd place décor – TIE:

THE SISTERS OF PERPETUAL INDULGENCE and COTTON CANDY CLOWN CLUB

The organizers would like to thank our panel of judges including Mayor Rita Lamb, Mayor Pro Tem Mark Carnevale, Councilmembers Nancy Ross, Raymond Gregory, Public Arts Commission Chair DeeAnn Hopings, and Community Representatives Patsi (Dinner with Patsi), Eric Davis and Barbara Carpenter.
