To help prevent identity theft and provide a valuable service to residents, the City of Cathedral City hosts FREE Document Shredding Events.
Events are held on the first Saturday of each month, October through May. You’re not limited to the items listed – bring all your sensitive documents.

SATURDAY: 2026 October 3, November 7 and December 5
2027 February 6, March 6, April 3 and May 1
The January 2027 Shredding Event has been cancelled this year due to the holiday weekend.
TIME: 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.

TIPS:
➤ You do not need to remove paper clips, staples, file folders, report covers, envelopes or binder clips from your documents.
➤ You can bring your documents in boxes or plastic bags.

Your documents will be shredded on-site – and you can watch the entire process.
➤ Arrive early: The event will end once the shredding truck reaches capacity.
➤ Free service: There is no charge to shred your documents.
