Cathedral City 100th Anniversary Celebration: Honoring Our First Land Marker

August 30 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Step back in time and celebrate a century of Cathedral City heritage at this special commemorative event marking the 100th anniversary of our community’s first designated land marker.

The celebration begins with an exclusive screening of a newly produced short film entitled “Cathedral City: Built by Grit and Grace” documenting Cathedral City’s remarkable transformation from desert landscape to thriving community, created by our dedicated city staff. Following this historical journey, we’ll present the classic 1963 film “Palm Springs Weekend,” which was actually filmed right here in Cathedral City at the Desert Palms Inn, showcasing our city’s early role in Hollywood history.

This milestone event celebrates our community’s rich heritage and the foundation that built the Cathedral City we know and love today. All attendees will receive exclusive 100th anniversary commemorative items as a memento of this historic occasion.

Join fellow residents, history enthusiasts, and community leaders for this unique opportunity to reflect on our past and celebrate the foundation that built the Cathedral City we know and love today. Light refreshments will be provided, and admission is free for all community members.

This special presentation is made possible through the dedicated efforts of the Cathedral City Historic Preservation Committee and the generous support of Canyon Print & Signs, continuing our tradition of community partnership and local business involvement in preserving our heritage.
