Host Conrad Angel Corral recently visited Aerni Family Christmas Trees, located at 68665 Ramon Road, Cathedral City, CA 92234. This family-owned business has been bringing farm-grown trees to the Coachella Valley for more than 60 years, making it a beloved holiday tradition for generations of local families.
The Aerni family grows their trees on their farm near Salem, Oregon, and has been serving Cathedral City since 1980. What started as a small operation—cutting down timber trees during the slow winter season—has grown into a thriving family business now run by multiple generations, including Rosa and Butch Aerni and their four children.
Keeping trees fresh in the desert heat requires special care. The Aerni family places their trees under shade tarps with water continuously misting over them to maintain freshness. When customers purchase a tree, the team puts a fresh cut on the trunk and advises getting it in water within an hour to ensure it stays healthy through the season.
The lot offers trees in a variety of sizes and also features family activities including bounce houses, slides, and hot cocoa.
