Cathedral City Community Amphitheater Closed for Park Upgrades

As of today, the City of Cathedral City has closed the Cathedral City Community Amphitheater, corner of Avenida Lalo Guerrero and Cathedral Canyon Drive, to the public for the next 45-60 days due to construction upgrades underway to make the park even better and more user friendly.

Upgrades to the park were approved by the City Council in May and the final plans have now been approved by the engineers.  Once construction is completed, attendees will notice a new stage structure to host new sound and lighting equipment as well as a new Front of House plug and play area for greater ease in bringing community and corporate events to the park.  In addition, the center lawn area of the amphitheater park will house new electrical bollards for greater safety and ease for pop-up events like art shows and outdoor markets.

The public should get its first glimpse of the new improvements during the Cathedral City Hot Air Balloon Festival and Food Truck Fiesta scheduled for November 19-21, 2021.  The City’s 40th Anniversary Concert featuring “Giselle and the Night Owls” will also occur on Saturday, November 20, 2021 starting at 7:15 pm.  For more information about the park and upcoming events, go to www.DiscoverCathedralCity.com.
