Cathedral City Fire Department Receives Essential Lifesaving Equipment Courtesy of Firehouse Subs

At last night’s city council meeting, the Cathedral City Fire Department under the direction of Chief Paul Wilson thanked Mr. Shinder Singh, the local franchisee of Firehouse Subs located in Palm Springs, for their generous $20,000 grant to purchase extrication tools utilized to remove victims trapped in vehicles or machinery as a result of traffic collisions or industrial/construction accidents.

Cathedral City applied for a grant through Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation which generates the monies from customers who donate their change when ordering food. The new lithium battery powered equipment consists of powerful spreaders and cutters and replaces the previous 20-year old gasoline/hydraulic powered “jaws of life” type rescue tools. Due to their compact size and weight, the new tools reduce the extrication time by half.

Please thank Firehouse Subs and its customers (possibly you) for these essential lifesaving pieces of equipment for the Cathedral City Fire Department and for our wonderful city.
