Cathedral City Hosts League of California Cities – Riverside County Division at Community Amphitheater

The City of Cathedral City was honored to host the General Membership Meeting of the League of California Cities – Riverside County Division in our Community Amphitheater on March 13, 2023. The City welcomed Division President, Perris Mayor Michael Vargas, and the rest of the board who keep this organization operating for the betterment of our cities and the constituents we serve.

Aaron Hake, Deputy Executive Director of the Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC) was a guest speaker at the meeting and talked about the future of transportation in Riverside County. RCTC fiscally-responsible steward of your Measure A sales tax dollars, which fund transportation improvements that Riverside County voters have approved by more than a two-thirds vote.

The Riverside County Division includes 28 cities in Riverside County and provides members with the opportunity to exchange ideas and information and share the advantages of cooperative advocacy.

The Cathedral City Community Amphitheater is located 68526 Avenida Lalo Guerrero, at the corner of Cathedral Canyon Drive and Avenida Lalo Guerrero within the civic center complex and adjacent to the Downtown Parking Structure. The total size of the lots is 2.51 acres.

In a continuing effort to encourage public use of this civic space, the city applied for and received a$2.8 million California State Parks Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant to create a new and interactive outdoor amphitheater space for cultural, entertainment and recreation events and activities.
