Cathedral City Mayor Rita Lamb, Three Re-Elected City Councilmembers, New Treasurer Sworn Into Office

At the special City Council meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022, Rita Lamb, accompanied by her husband David, took the oath of office to become Cathedral City’s mayor. Re-elected City Councilmember Mark Carnevale will serve as Mayor Pro Tem.

Mayor Lamb thanked former Mayor Ernesto Gutierrez for his leadership and service as well as all the previous mayors who served Cathedral City. Cathedral City’s mayor position rotates every year starting at the first regular council meeting in December.

Re-elected for another term by the voters of Cathedral City, Councilmembers Ernesto Gutierrez, Raymond Gregory, and Mark Carnevale took the oath of office. Both Gregory and Carnevale ran unopposed.

New City Treasurer Greg Jackson was also sworn into office. Jackson replaces Henry Chan who served in that position from 2010-2022. The city treasurer is elected at large for a four-year term.
