Cathedral City’s 9th Annual Halloween Spooktacular Returns to Downtown Cathedral City, Oct. 26, 2025

The City of Cathedral City’s annual Halloween Spooktacular, presented by State Farm Agent Phil Goodge, features trick-or-treating with more than 60,000 pieces of candy! This year’s event will take place in Downtown Cathedral City in front of City Hall, 68700 Avenida Lalo Guerrero, from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025.

The Halloween festivities continue with Spooktacular Movie Nights presented by Desert Recreation District. Enjoy free, family-friendly films at the Cathedral City Community Amphitheater (68526 Ave Lalo Guerrero). Fun begins at dusk with Coco screening on Tuesday, Oct. 21 and Hocus Pocus on Tuesday, Oct. 28. Visit myrecreationdistrict.com/Movies for more information.

The weekend Halloween festivities kick off the day before with the Howl-O-Ween Dog Costume Contest, sponsored by Grocery Outlet, on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 9 a.m. at Panorama Park Dog Park (28905 Avenida Maravilla). Presented by the Parks and Community Events Commission, the contest features two categories for small and large dogs, with prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each category, plus a prize for best costume combo dog/owner. Registration begins at 9 a.m. with the contest starting at 9:30 a.m.

Join friends, neighbors, and family for a Spooktacular time including activities such as Halloween costume contests with bicycles given away each hour, exhibitions by Cathedral City Police and Cathedral City Fire, music, and family games. This family-friendly event promises fun for all ages with special performances and interactive activities throughout the afternoon.

Serving as Cathedral City’s version of National Night Out, Halloween Spooktacular provides you with the opportunity to learn about the police and fire departments, view special demonstrations, and get to know the men and women who serve you each day. This community-building event strengthens the partnership between public safety and residents in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. Admission is free and free parking is also available.
