CCHS Golden Lion Awards Night Will Be First Large Event at New Amphitheater

The City Council approved a Special Use Permit by the Cathedral City High School (CCHS) to hold its annual Golden Lion Awards Night at the new Cathedral City Community Amphitheater.  This will be the first, large event at the amphitheater since its opening earlier this year and the relaxation of COVID-19 guidelines.  Please know that tickets are required in order to attend.

Riverside County is currently in the Orange Tier for COVID-19 restrictions.  This allows the use of outdoor venues up to a 33% maximum capacity.  The Cathedral City Community Amphitheater has a capacity of 2,909 people, allowing up to 960 patrons.  CCHS’ Golden Lion Awards Night expects an attendance between 400 to 450 people at any one given time, far below current health guidelines.  Attendees must wear facial coverings.

The 2.5 acre park has been open since March 2, 2021 allowing visitors to enjoy its walking paths, Tot Lot playground, restrooms, green grass and desert landscape, as well as permanent outdoor table seating.
