City Council Approves Drone Light Show as Part of 7th Annual Cathedral City LGBT Days

The City Council of Cathedral City approved a gift in the amount of $45,000 from Grizzly Entertainment for a drone light show at Cathedral City LGBT Days. The unanimous vote took place at the regular meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2023.

Grizzly Entertainment recently conducted a 200-drone unit light show at the Cathedral City Hot Air Balloon Festival on Friday, Nov. 18, 2022. The purpose of the donation is for the benefit of the public’s entertainment and to enhance the quality of programming for Cathedral City LGBT Days.

The drone show will once again be located above the 13.5 acres across from the Agua Caliente Casino in Cathedral City. This is the location where the city has shot off fireworks in the past for previous events. The custom build show lasts 10 minutes and has been a popular addition at many events around the globe.

Friday night, March 3rd beginning at 7:00PM features the official Pride flag raising and lighting of City Hall; a screening under the stars of the queer film classic, THE ADVENTURES OF PRISCILLA, QUEEN OF THE DESERT at the Cathedral City Amphitheater; followed by the first-ever outdoor PRIDE Drone Show and an opening night after-party to be announced. The film screening and drone show are free to the public; register for film tickets here.
