CONE ZONE ALERT: Multiple Road Closures in Place in Cathedral City Due to Flooding from Tropical Storm Hilary

4 P.M. SUNDAY, AUG. 20, 2023, UPDATE: The City’s Public Works crews are closing Varner Road from Date Palm Drive to Mountain View Road in Cathedral City. Conditions are worsening due to heavy rainfall from Tropical Storm Hilary. We continue to ask residents to stay off the roads and stay home.

2:45 P.M. SUNDAY, AUG. 20, 2023, UPDATE: The City’s Public Works crews will be closing Ortega Road between Moreno Road and Via De Anza due to flooding. Conditions are worsening due to heavy rainfall from Tropical Storm Hilary. Please stay off the roads and stay home!

2 P.M. SUNDAY, AUG. 20, 2023, UPDATE: The City’s Public Works crews will be closing Dinah Shore Drive between Cathedral Canyon Drive and Date Palm Drive due to flooding. Please stay off the roads and stay home!

Los Gatos Road at Date Palm Drive has been closed by the City’s Public Works Department due to forecasted severe weather produced by Hurricane Hilary.

Vista Chino at the wash will also be closed at midnight (Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023) per the direction of the City of Palm Springs.

City crews will be working throughout the city determining the level of flooding as the storm arrives in Cathedral City.
