The Chief Medical Adviser to President Biden, Dr. Anthony Fauci, recommends that Americans double mask when going out in public, especially in places where social distancing is not always available, such as shopping at retail and grocery stores. He said it “just makes common sense” to do so.
Double Masking can be achieved by using two cloth masks or using a surgical mask along with a cloth mask over the surgical mask. It also includes various versions of N95 type masks that are already built with multiple layers. Researchers believe that by double masking, it can effectively reduce the Coronavirus droplets being breathed in by 50% to 70%.
