Howard Shangraw Named New Director of the CVRep Conservatory, Summer Conservatory Classes Announced

Coachella Valley Repertory has named veteran actor, director, playwright and arts administrator Howard Shangraw as the new director of its Conservatory. Additionally, the Conservatory has announced the 2023 summer schedule of classes, running from June 19 through August 29, 2023.

The summer session curriculum includes Acting Technique, Going Solo: The Art of the One-Person Show, The I Hate Shakespeare Shakespeare Workshop, Empowered Improv, Improve Essentials, Acting Pro: Mastering the Audition, Movement for Actors: Athletes of Emotion and Improv FUN-damentals!

The faculty includes industry professionals with many years of experience teaching advanced level classes, master classes and theatre programs. The instructors include Broadway veteran and a featured artist in CVRep’s 2023 Summer Cabaret Series, Alix Korey, Jeanette Knight, who has appeared at CVRep, Melanie Blue, who has directed at CVRep, CVRep Company Manager Kudra Wagner and Mr. Shangraw. Classes are offered in two age categories, young people ages 8 through high school and adults 16 and above.

All classes are held at Coachella Valley Repertory, located at 68510 E. Palm Canyon Dr. in Cathedral City.
