New Video to Help Businesses Understand Emergency Orders 5 & 6

Cathedral City’s Economic Development Director Stone James and the new President and CEO of the Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce Emily Falappino have teamed up to provide this information video on how Cathedral City’s Emergency Orders 5 & 6 will affect how you operate your business in Cathedral City with regards to new citywide COVID-19 safety measures.

Emergency Order #5 mandates that all patrons and employees wear a mask indoors at all facilities open to the public regardless of vaccination status.  This would include grocery stores, retail centers, gyms, and movies theaters.  The exceptions include when you are eating and drinking or having a procedure that requires the removal of a facial mask.  It also requires the use of masks outdoors in large group settings when social distancing is not possible regardless of vaccination status.  Exceptions include when eating and drinking, swimming or tanning, or receiving a service that requires the removal of facial covering, among other medical exemptions.

Emergency Order #6 requires that all patrons who want to eat or drink indoors at local restaurants and bars (or similar type businesses) must show proof of being vaccinated against COVID-19 or show proof of a negative COVID-19 test within the past 72 hours.  This does not apply to outdoor dining or bar service.
