Panorama Dog Park Now Open

Mayor Ernesto Gutierrez and the entire City Council were on hand to celebrate with neighbors, dog owners, and more than 20 dogs for the grand opening of the Panorama Dog Park this past Friday morning.  The new $610,000 dog park has all the elements to be a wonderful amenity to Panorama Park including a beautiful lawn, fencing, lighting, lush landscaping, a smart irrigation system, ADA accessibility, signage, shade trees, shade structures, recycled and environmentally friendly park benches, and drink stations for both humans and dogs.

This project was mostly engineered and implemented by city staff.  Kudos go to John Corella, Director of Engineering and Public Works; his lead engineering staff person for the project Andres Perez; Environmental and Conservation and Public Works Manager Deanna Pressgrove; Public Works Supervisor Carlos Rodriguez; Senior Public Works Inspector Shawn Maddox, and all the employees from the Public Works Department that helped build this park from the ground up.

The park is now open every day from dawn to 10 pm.  It is located at 28905 Avenida Maravilla, on the eastern side of Panorama Park.  There are two sides of the dog park, one for small pooches and one for large breeds.  Go check it out.
